Texas has lots of wildflowers, but bluebonnets may be my favorite! With some beautiful lighting, it only takes a little field of flowers to make this girl glow like none other!
Ashton is another young lady I started photographing her freshman year. We are compiling all the sessions into one heirloom album her senior year. It has been so fun to get to know her and her family and really watch her blossom through high school! We photograph different locations each year and want to capture her personality and favorite things.
When my kids were younger, I felt like they grew so fast! I thought by the time they got to high school they would be like tiny adults that didn’t change much. When I started photographing high schoolers back in 2013, I realized how wrong I was! It was amazing to see how much they changed in only one year. Ashton has her braces off now, her hair is longer with some fun highlights, and she is getting so mature. We did a little combo session this year because we wanted to photograph her sweet pig before heading to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
These wildflowers are a beautiful mix of colors! This beautiful girl always knows how to rock a session, and I could photograph her all day!
I have felt pulled away from my desk and opted to spend a lot of time to the past few weeks updating some landscaping. There are some hot and humid days I don’t want to step foot outside, so my new workout routine has been manual labor in the dirt lately.
If you want to talk plants, just say the word. If you are still learning (which we all are), my favorite resource is Enchanted Gardens. I recommend going on a weekday when it’s not busy, and you will always find knowledgeable people to give you recommendations on what may work in your yard. Enchanted Forest is a little smaller, but it’s a little closer to my house and has free popsicles, so my daughter is a big fan. You can always count on either of the nurseries for the best plants around in my opinion. Don’t be afraid to bring the kids because both have some farm animals you can visit too.
