Family Wildflower Portraits in Sugar Land, Texas

Spring is the perfect time for family wildflower portraits! Fall is typically the busy season for families looking for those precious Christmas card shots, but spring is my favorite time of year. The weather is warm, so there are lots of fun wardrobe options. But, it’s not too hot yet before the summer heat hit. However, my favorite thing about spring is all the colors, especially flowers in bloom!

I have visited Sugar Land Memorial park many times with my family, but this was my first official session here. I had a little help from my husband as he scouted a few prime spots along his mountain bike trails. As a side note, if you are looking for fun bike adventures, go check out this park now. My daughter loves the pump track too.

I photograph each of these kids around their birthday, but this year’s family pictures were split into two sessions. You may remember some bunny pictures this family last month too. This family moved here a couple of years ago from Louisiana and were dying for bluebonnet pictures. This year seemed to be a rough one for bluebonnets, so we embraced a variety of Texas wildflowers. I gave little brother some extra time to run around and play a little ball together. Sometimes kids need a little extra time and patience to get comfortable, but it was a success.

What’s your favorite part of family wildflower pictures?

The kids would say their favorite part was climbing around this big pile of dirt. Well, maybe playing with some bugs we discovered under a tree stump is a close second. Making memories at its finest!

However, taking time to play around together yield some awesome photos! Family wildflower portraits are so fun!
